Application & Onboarding

What happens after I submit my application? +

After applying, you'll be guided through The Marksmen Co onboarding process. This includes completing required forms that will be submitted to WA Police (WAPOL) on your behalf. Once you are approved by WAPOL and have completed our onboarding requirements, you will be ready for operations.

Is approval guaranteed once I apply? +

No. All applications are subject to assessment and approval. Completing onboarding does not guarantee acceptance or participation in operations.

How long does the onboarding process take? +

Timeframes vary depending on:

  • How quickly forms are completed and returned
  • Training and assessment completion
  • External regulatory processing times

Some steps are outside our control.

What documents will I need to complete? +

During onboarding, you may be required to complete:

  • Membership agreements
  • WA Police (WAPOL) application forms
  • Health or suitability declarations where applicable
  • Training acknowledgements

All required documents are provided as part of onboarding.

Do I need a firearms licence to start onboarding? +

No. A firearms licence is not required to begin onboarding or to apply for Operator Pro membership.

Training & Assessment

Do I need to organise my own training? +

No. All required training and assessments are provided through The Marksmen Co onboarding process. Additional optional training and development days may also be available to members.

What training do Operator Pro applicants complete? +

Operator Pro applicants complete structured training covering:

  • Firearms safety
  • Legislative responsibilities (including the Firearms Act 2024)
  • Operational procedures and expectations
  • Ethical and professional standards
What is the knowledge assessment? +

The knowledge assessment confirms understanding of safety, legislation, and operational procedures. It ensures all Operator Pro members operate to a consistent standard.

What is the accuracy or proficiency assessment? +

Operator Pro applicants must demonstrate safe and competent firearm handling and accuracy. This assessment ensures professional standards and ethical shot placement.

What happens if I don't pass an assessment? +

If an assessment is not passed:

  • Feedback will be provided
  • Further training may be recommended
  • Reassessment may be offered where appropriate

Not all applicants will progress to approval.

Operations & Participation

Can I participate in operations while onboarding? +

No. Members may only participate in operations after onboarding is completed and approval has been granted.

Who reviews and approves applications? +

Applications are reviewed internally by The Marksmen Co in line with operational requirements and regulatory obligations. Some approvals are subject to external regulatory processes.

Once approved, is my membership permanent? +

No. Membership and approval are ongoing and subject to:

  • Continued compliance
  • Adherence to policies and procedures
  • Periodic review

Approval may be suspended or revoked if standards are not maintained.

Can my application be declined? +

Yes. Applications may be declined if requirements are not met or approvals are not granted. The Marksmen Co reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership in accordance with its obligations.

Support & Information

What if my onboarding is delayed? +

Delays usually occur due to incomplete forms, missing information, or external processing times. Completing all steps promptly helps minimise delays.

Will someone help me during onboarding? +

Yes. The Marksmen Co team is available to assist with understanding onboarding steps, completing forms, and clarifying requirements.

What happens if regulations or requirements change? +

Onboarding and operational requirements may be updated to reflect changes in legislation or regulatory guidance. Members will be notified if changes affect their participation.

How will my personal information be handled? +

All personal and health information is handled confidentially and in accordance with privacy and regulatory requirements. Information is used only for onboarding, compliance, and operational purposes.

What should I do to avoid delays? +

To help your application progress smoothly:

  • Complete all forms accurately
  • Upload requested documents promptly
  • Complete training and assessments as soon as they are available

Completion of onboarding does not guarantee approval or access to operations. All participation is subject to assessment, availability, and applicable regulatory approvals.
